If I’m careful when I pull them off and store them in the original container (which maintains their shape), I can use a pair 4-5 times, which on a wear-by-wear basis, works out to about $4 per 33 Lash-enhanced event. These might seem pricey at $16 each, but as long as I’m gentle when I remove them, I feel like I can get pretty good mileage out of every pair. Price is often the biggest problem with false lashes, considering that they’re rarely wearable more than a few times. The super thin lash strip feels like nothing at all on my lids, and the lashes themselves aren’t so long that they make my eyes feel all droopy, which happens with some really ridonkulously huge false lashes. These 33s are more like wedding day lashes - flirty, classic, beautiful and comfy. Seriously, if there were a cage, glitter and dancing in my immediate future (stranger things have happened), I’d probably opt for something more club-rageous like MAC’s 34 or 36 lashes instead.
It’s an exciting release without a doubt and many a MAC fan will be happy however if you’re a tad on the picky side (I am) you might think that past Mineralized Collections were far better than this. That said, these are not the false lashes I’d want to wear if I were otherwise covered in glitter at da cloob.… Not that I’ve done anything like that in, like, 10 years. Out of the four I tried I’d say two caught my attention (Quartz Fusion and Faux Gold) but the mess they create during application is a bother. Overall, the Semi Precious Mineralized Eye Shadows were slightly disappointing from shades I already own from past collections. Seems almost semi-matte in finish to me and applies really patchy and the smaller glittery pieces get all over the place. The green sadly fails to show up here and you’re getting alot of navy so buyer beware if you’re going into the purchase because you love green. Jade’s Fortune: A rather disappointing gorgeous swirl of green and blue that applies as a blackened blue with plenty of shimmer. Hate shimmer? Don’t bother, this is disco ball central. It’s a pain in the butt to apply as fall out is a major problem but it’s a very pretty shade for shimmer fans. Contains huge chunky pieces of silver glitter but the soft cranberry pink shade will have many people loving it.
Has zero glitter, shimmer, or fall out problems. Applies a little patchy due to the finish but a good base keeps things flowing well. MAC deems it a deep burgundy black but it does have some brown to it and a subtle golden sheen. Smoked Ruby: Very smooth formula with a semi matte finish. It has a good deal of shimmer but not chunky glitter. In the pot it’s a bronze coral but swatches and applies as a golden brown bronze with a hint of burnt orange. But that’s just my experience with the shadows, some folks have a heck of alot more skill than I do with application and can create amazing eye looks but I think the average user might find them suitable to be worn alone or perhaps with one other shade.Īs mentioned above it seems the formula varies here.įaux Gold: A fairly smooth textured shadow with minimal fall out and sheerer color payoff that builds easily. I suggest them for folks who aren’t big on combining several shades of shadow for a single look as sometimes mineralized eyeshadows aren’t very friendly and do not blend well together but wear best when worn as a single shade. I will say that the formula should appeal to those who like shimmery shades with a looser baked formula. They tend to run extra shimmery, aren’t as pigmented as the regular shadow formula in some cases, and have a good deal of fall out and chunky glitter. I’m a pretty big fan of MAC’s Mineralized Eyeshadows but they are definitely an acquired taste.
MAC Semi Precious is a damn fine release of mineral products so if you’re a fan this is your chance to indulge or if you’re new to MAC, well, what a way to get into their mineralized products with a collection so full of variety.Īfter playing around with some of the shadows I will say the formula seems to vary from shade to shade. I tried our four shades this week and here are my thoughts! If you’re old school you totally remember the Pinball Number Count! 12 is the number pf MAC Semi Precious Mineralize Eyeshadows releasing next week!
